Batman: Damned Bermejo was inspired by photography, such as the book Uncle Charlie by Marc Asnin, and said that while the art is in his traditional style, he thought it was more colorful than people would expect. He returns to the bridge and promptly begins investigating the situation, finding a homeless man claiming to have witnessed the Joker’s murder at the hands of the devil. The scene soon became subject to online ridicule, and late night talk show hosts and made jokes about it. But things change for the digital version of the book. Each page took Bermejo around three or four days to complete. Azzarello creates a gripping rendition of the Batman who is experiencing his own personal hell with a large taint of the supernatural.

BATMAN: DAMNED #2 Azzarello is a Gotham City poet and leaves you wanting more. The writing was stellar and the art was gorgeous, which made this a near perfect comic book. Batman’s most baffling case brings him face to face with his worst nightmare in this highly anticipated finale! I actually did not like the art, nor did I like the lettering. I want one for the collectability at this point, but not at that price right now. Batman: Damned is a top-notch comic, providing something new for a character that’s been around for decades and I’m not just talking about his junk. I’m a bit of a fanboy though. Batman then learns of the Joker’s apparent death on Constantine’s television.
